Quarter-Wave Plates are birefringent optical components that introduce a quarter-wavelength phase delay between the orthogonal polarization axes, converting linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light or vice versa. Zero-order, air-spaced design offers the best performance due to its low sensitivity to wavelength and temperature variations. This makes it ideal for demanding applications in II harmonics high-power laser systems, optical isolators, modulators, and polarization-sensitive detection setups.
