AR-coated 1030 nm windows are used as low-loss protective and isolation elements in femtosecond–picosecond beam delivery, preserving beam quality while sealing laser heads, beam expanders, and enclosed beam paths from dust and airflow. They are commonly placed at the entrance or exit of scan heads, galvo modules, and processing chambers, as well as in vacuum or purge enclosures for micromachining, where high throughput and minimal wavefront distortion are critical.
In laboratory setups, they serve as clean interfaces for diagnostics benches (cameras, power meters, autocorrelators, spectrometers) and as protective covers for sensitive optics, with the AR coating minimizing Fresnel losses and back-reflections that can destabilize high-coherence ultrafast systems.
