These zero-order air-spaced half-wave plates are used in frequency-doubled Yb-based laser systems to rotate linear polarization and precisely set the power distribution through polarization-sensitive optics without degrading beam quality. They are commonly placed in green-beam delivery and polarization-control sections before isolators, thin-film polarizers, scanners, or diagnostic optics, where stable retardance and repeatable polarization angle are critical for high-power femtosecond and picosecond beams.
